I personally own one, and like any other toy, it has its fun expiration date. These days, I mainly use it as my U2F login device, but for the most part, it's just collecting dust, as evident from my flipper expression.
It's definitely an expensive toy, but it has a large and dedicated community of geeks behind it, who are constantly pushing the boundaries and doing extraordinary things.
